Job summary
We are seeking a motivated, committed and enthusiastic individual to provide prescribing administrative support at Telford Substance Misuse and Recovery Service (Stars).
Our aim is to provide high-quality, planned care to individuals experiencing substance misuse problems in order to improve their health and wellbeing and to support their recovery; the role of Prescribing Officer/Administrator will be integral to achieving this.
The main responsibilities of this role include providing general administrative support to the service, prescription management including the generation of prescriptions and information input into the clinical record system and working collaboratively with the team and community pharmacists.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be proficient in the use of information technology and able to work with minimal supervision.
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team which requires flexibility, the ability to both prioritise and adapt according to service need.
Main duties of the job
Part-time administrator (working 22.5 hours per week) for Inclusion Telford Stars.
The post holder will provide an effective and efficient clinical administrative service to the substance misuse services in Telford. The post holder will show a willingness to assist others, be a key member of the team with a requirement to work in other administrative areas as appropriate as directed by their line manager.
Working within the service can at times be a stressful environment, by way of managing the printing of prescriptions, the administration of prescriptions, ensuring an efficient and effective audit trail, telephone calls, visitors, meetings and numerous daily urgencies. The post holder requires the ability to work under pressure, with conflicting demands at times.
