Job summary

We are seeking an experienced CBT Therapist to join our dynamic West Midlands Gambling Harms team, on a fixed term contract.

To provide high quality, evidence based cognitive behavioural therapies to adults experiencing gambling harm with complex presentations that achieve the psychological well-being and valued outcomes for people served by the West Midlands Gambling Harms Clinic.

To work at the clinic and other settings as appropriate, and see people individually and in groups, face-to-face and on-line.

To deliver services that help overcome stigma that people may face, and to work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and with a commitment to equal opportunities and equality of access to treatment.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality, evidence based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) services to people experiencing gambling harm with complex presentations.
  • To participate in the development of a high quality, responsive and accessible service delivering valued outcomes for clients and their families and carers. This includes the development of new and / or specialist CBT interventions for people experiencing gambling harm and additional needs which may require multiagency and indirect work.
  • To provide training and supervision for other CBT therapists within the service.
  • To proactively liaise with colleagues and partners across the gambling treatment system in managing referrals.
  • To deliver services that help overcome stigma that people may face, and to work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and with a commitment to equal opportunities and equality of access to treatment.
  • To comply with professional guidelines and standards and the overall framework of the Team's policies and procedures and system for integrated governance

  • Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.

Essential
