Job summary

The post holder will be part of a team of clinicians whose responsibility is to provide psychological services for people with an at risk mental state in primary care and supporting GPs by working across designated practices according to population need.

The post-holder will be responsible, with other team members, for the delivery of high intensity psychological interventions delivered within ARMS. Clinical provision includes assessment, formulation and time-limited evidence based interventions within primary care as and when appropriate.

The post holder will also play a role in the education, training and support around psychological issues for professionals. Staff members will be a part of the duty roster and expected to complete CAARMS assessments (after completing CAARMS training).

Team members will play an active role in influencing the development of mental health care services through their involvement in evaluation and audit. They will also participate in research initiatives on an as and when required basis.

Main duties of the job

Providing CBT within ARMS to those aged 14-35 in South West Essex. The post-holder will work as a member of a locality team within ARMS, providing effective evidence based therapies.The post holder will be part of an ARMS service and will provide CBT interventions using approved psychotherapeutic modalities. The post holder will work with clients who have a range of difficulties including depression and anxiety disorders for which ARMS is demonstrated to be a suitable service.

The service offers a holistic model of care to patients who are at risk of developing a first episode of psychosis. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities and equality of access to treatment.
