The post offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to staff, service users and communities across Inclusion's community drug and alcohol treatment service footprint.

Whilst we embrace the use of digital technologies to conduct our business the role will require regular travel across England.

The post holder will be responsible for the senior operational leadership of Inclusion's Drug and Alcohol treatment function. They will provide operational leadership for the services within all MPFT Drugs and Alcohol services, supporting the delivery of high quality services that meet the expectations of patients and commissioners.

The role will be managerially responsible for the performance, operational delivery and strategic development of the service type. The development of a sustainable and modern approach to the provision of these services alongside the Practice and Development Lead will enable the provision of high quality sustainable services that meet strategic and policy priorities.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a highly enthusiastic, knowledgeable and motivated individual as our Deputy Head of Operations with leadership for practice and development within our community drug and alcohol services which are based across England.

The role will work closely with the Service Lead for Practice and Development supported by the Head of Operations, Head of Quality and Governance and the Head of Inclusion, reporting on performance targets to the Specialist Care Group Management Team.

They will liaise with colleagues in other Care Groups/Departments/Services who provide support services to and/or have a critical interface with the Specialist Service Care Group. Develop effective relationships with Clinical networks and key organisations at a regional and national level in respect of all issues related to the strategic direction for Drugs and Alcohol services including engaging with ICSs and the ten year drug strategy (2021 - 2031).

The role will work in close collaboration with Practice and Development Lead, taking responsibility for operational matters. While having clear individual areas of accountability and leadership both the Operational and Practice and Assurance Leads will be expected to operate closely in collaboration to achieve the set objectives for the service type. The post holders will support and cover all aspects of their colleague's duties (professional competencies permitting) to provide seamless day to day leadership.
