The successful applicant will need knowledge and experience of substance misuse and the harms this can cause, as well as a positive attitude in supporting our clients in meeting their healthcare needs. This is a job that truly makes a difference.
The role includes regular delivery of health and wellbeing clinics in which basic observations, vaccinations for Hep B and testing for blood borne viruses are undertaken, as well as looking at other health related concerns will be essential to support our clients in addressing their health.
There may be requirements to support other Hampshire-based Inclusion services in clinical interventions so a willingness to travel is essential.
Main duties of the job
The team deliver care over a 5-day period to substance misusing adults, focusing on ensuring that the service users are supported in their recovery, using collaborative holistic care planning and interventions.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will provide active involvement in the assessment and key working with clients, responding quickly to those referred with urgent and high risks such as pregnancy, prescribing needs etc. We will be looking for the post holder to provide effective, evidence-based interventions at the right time with the right person.
You will need to have the following key skills and experience:
Experience of working in a substance misuse setting.
- Registered nurse (RMN or RGN as examples)
- Have a genuine passion for working with substance misusing clients
- Be able to work well in a team
- Deliver a range of clinical interventions including basic observations, vaccinations and testing for blood borne viruses
- Support clients in alcohol home detoxes
