Job summary

Inclusion Thurrock is seeking to recruit an Employment Specialist who would be part of our friendly committed, professional IPS employment team.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and skilled, who can be creative and sensitive while supporting our clients back into the workplace or support those who are already in employment to both maintain their roles and to thrive

Main duties of the job

This role is part of an innovative new IPS employment service, aligned and working closely with Inclusion Thurrock Services, Adult Community Mental Health Teams, Early Intervention in Psychosis, and Recovery College to support people with mental health problems with employment needs. Evidence-based supported employment, Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is the model being used and the post holder will be instrumental in its implementation guided by the IPS team leader.

The role will involve working directly with Care coordinators, Jobcentre Plus, employers, trade unions, and employment agencies to keep people in employment and secure employment opportunities. You will work closely with practitioners in Thurrock Community Mental Health teams, and primary care and secondary care services serving Thurrock. This is an exciting partnership between a number of NHS providers and the local voluntary sector, keen to make a real difference to the vocational outcomes of people accessing our services. The IPS team itself is small compared to some other Inclusion services but its outputs and achievements in helping clients turn their lives around are massive. This is a very friendly team who work incredibly closely within our partners in other Trusts , specifically EPUT and the EIP service but also with our many other partners in agencies such as DWP and third sector providers.

Partnerships are at the core of all our work as we recognise that only by working collaboratively can we achieve the greatest good for our clients and provide sustainable solutions to often complex situations.
