Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic healthcare support worker to join our Integrated Sexual Health team in Cobridge.

The successful candidate will be a compassionate and non-judgemental individual who demonstrates excellent communication skills. They will have an understanding of the complexities of sexual health and bounds of confidentiality the service upholds.

The service is based in Cobridge, with satellite clinics delivered in surrounding areas. The chosen applicant will work on a rota basis covering the opening times of the service. The service runs 8:00am until 7:30pm, Monday Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm Wednesday and Friday and 9:00am to 1:00pm Saturday.

Main duties of the job

The Integrated HIV and Sexual Health Service provides a highly complex, sensitive and confidential service across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The ISH service is delivered as a Hub and Spoke model. The hubs deliver ISH complex conditions; the spoke clinics provide care for less complex conditions, this gives patients choices by delivering the service in the community which can reflect as the spoke element of the working model. Patients also have access to services via a digital provider.

The key element of this role is to support both staff and patients as Integrated Sexual Health (ISH) services are being delivered in a seamless, caring and confidential model. The post holder will deliver a patient focused approach to care as a key player within the team, good communication is essential. They will assist upon request by the team to chaperone a patient during their journey in the clinic, carry out measurements, venipuncture and clinical procedures as appropriate to grade as part of the care pathways in clinic and community settings. The ISH service is an integrated service, and is proactive in the development of new ways of working.

The ISH service also includes a Prevention and outreach team and delivers the c-card program.
