Senior Employment Advisor

Full Time Band 6. Salary commencement at Intermediate step point, plus 5% Fringe HCAS benefit

This is an exciting time to be joining us. We are expanding our existing employment support services, so we will be in a position to support anyone struggling with their mental health wellbeing. We are looking to recruit a Senior Employment Advisor to lead a team of Employment Advisors. The Senior Employment Advisor will report to and work alongside our IPS Employment Service Team Lead. Together you will take learning from the high performing IPS Employment Service and use these resources to implement this new NHS Employment support service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled individual, with leadership skills, who is creative and can be sensitive to support needs of the new team and clients being supported to enable them to move back into the work place or support those who are already in employment to both maintain their roles and to thrive.

This role will be key in developing and implementing our innovative new Inclusion Thurrock NHS Employment Support Service. It will be aligned to and work closely with the other Inclusion Thurrock Services and Recovery College. The post holder will lead the team to support people with mental health problems with their employment needs. This will be done using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS). The post holder will be instrumental in leading the team to support individuals using this evidence based model. You will be aided in this process by the IPS Employment Team Leader and the Clinical Lead.

The role will involve managing the Employment Advisors, working directly with Inclusion Thurrock Managers and Therapists, Jobcentre Plus, employers, trade unions, World of Work and employment agencies, to keep people in employment and secure employment opportunities. You will work closely with practitioners in Thurrock Community Mental Health teams, Recovery College and other services serving Thurrock. We are keen to make a real difference to the vocational outcomes of people accessing our services.
