We are looking for a team leader with experience in the substance use sector and of leading a team, to join our friendly team in our adult community drug & alcohol service in Grays, Thurrock.

The Team Leader line manages and provides support, advice, and guidance to a team of drug & alcohol practitioners and community connectors/outreach workers. The Team Leader will have excellent communication skills and will work closely with the team and service manager and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service.

This post provides a unique opportunity to develop pathways and enhance the support and treatment available to residents of Thurrock

Main duties of the job

The role of the Team Leader will:

  • Line manage and provide support, advice, and guidance to a team of drug and alcohol practitioners and community connectors/outreach workers.
  • Ensure volunteers are utilised within the service.
  • Work with the service manager and team to ensure the service is meeting the needs of those it serves.
  • Manage and liaise with mental health and wellbeing practitioners within the service and promote joint working with colleagues at the NHS Talking Therapies Service in Thurrock.
  • Liaise and promote effective pathways with key partner agencies for the benefit of the people we work with.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Work closely with the clinical lead and service manager in the day-to-day and strategic direction of services and staffing.
