We are currently looking for a Non-Medical Prescriber to join our drug and alcohol team at VISIONS in Thurrock, Essex.
The NMP role is key within our multi-disciplinary team from a range of disciplines and backgrounds.
The NMP contributes to the safe and supportive treatment service for adults experiencing difficulties with drugs and/or alcohol. The post holder will work closely with the clinical lead to plan and deliver a range of evidence-based effective interventions and will be supported to prescribe for people requiring stabilisations, detoxifications, and maintenance treatment.

Main duties of the job
The role will work within a team setting and involve regular prescribing clinics, Health and Wellbeing clinics, attend Clinical Team Meetings, and contribute to alcohol detox, as well as detox panel discussions.
You will need to have the following key skills and experience:
- Experience working in a substance use service
- Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Allied Health Care Professional
- Non-medical Prescriber for substance use service
- Be able to work well in a team
Working in a team and in partnership with Team Leaders, Recovery Workers and other Prescribers you will:
- In conjunction with Clinical Lead, promote and develop Community Detoxification across Thurrock
- Carryout SI investigations and write incident and SI reports as needed, and in collaboration with the Clinical Lead
- With the Clinical Lead - support and develop Nurse Prescribingand Wellbeing across Thurrock
- Provide expert support to new NMP's and all nursing staff
- Carryout extensive independent NMP clinics across designated Thurrock sites as stated above
- Provision of healthcare treatments and screening to service users in line with the public health agenda

- To provide a clinical service to alcohol and drug users consistent with their needs including individual treatment and care packages underpinned by a sound evidence base.
- To work independently and as part of a team
- Follow SOPs ensure prescription batches are appropriately managed
