Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service at HMYOI Werrington is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist to join its friendly and professional team. Main duties of the job
You will deliver a variety of specialist communication assessments, interventions and advice in the clinical area of complex social interaction and communication difficulties. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced based interventions. The post holder will manage a caseload of patients, practicing within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Secure Stairs methodology and will provide a care coordinator role and communicate effectively with other professionals to ensure through care support where appropriate. You will be a reflective practitioner, eager to work collaboratively and contribute to the delivery of an effective, dynamic, specialist service. You will work with individuals from initial assessment through to discharge, which can include transferring care to other providers such as hospitals or CMHTs whilst working with a variety of agencies in the Offender Health Pathway. You will help to rehabilitate and support people to live decent and purposeful lives as members of the community. You will benefit from the experience and support of the team and that of its NHS employer. Inclusion (part of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) has prison substance misuse and mental health teams across the country and you will benefit from training and development opportunities as well as the support of an NHS employer experienced in providing prison healthcare for many years.
