Our team is made up of different roles, skills and expertise, which benefits those needing our care We share a passion for providing good quality mental health care. As a Graduate Mental Health Worker you will offer support and psychologically informed interventions to people in prison experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will play an invaluable role in supporting people who are often vulnerable and disadvantaged.
You will receive support, guidance and supervision from a registered mental health practitioner (psychologist or psychological therapist) and will have opportunity to receive additional support and guidance from your colleagues within the team.

Main duties of the job

Working effectively within the team you will assist in the assessment of care needs and the formulation, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. You will deliver relevant forms of mental health care under agreed levels of supervision and will assist in identifying strategies to support mental wellbeing and the promotion of self-care.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the needs of patients and will liaise with other professionals, to provide holistic care and treatment. You will support the delivery of timely access to integrated, high quality, service user-centred services that enable people with mental health needs, and/or substance use issues to improve their well-being and functioning, thereby preventing, reducing or delaying the need for more specialist services.
Under qualified mental health practitioners' supervision, you will work to ensure that the needs of service users are addressed by offering appropriate interventions. This will include the co-facilitation of group work and delivery of 1:1 interventions, promoting wellbeing, independence and choice.
