Job summary
As Head of Business Delivery, you will report to the Commercial Director, supporting them and the Senior Leadership Team in setting and delivering a clear strategic direction for business growth, and develop our market and customer intelligence to inform our approach to business development to better identify and manage business development opportunities. You will provide confident leadership to the Business Delivery Team, guiding them in achieving business revenue goals. You will be responsible for the identification, development, on-boarding, and management of high-quality commercial service offers that are innovative and promote the vision and values of QEF, promoting its profile and reputation and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including relevant professional networks and people who access our services.
Main duties of the job
- Take a proactive lead in transformational change for business growth, supporting the Commercial Director to create a strategically led, sustainable organisation.
- Support the Commercial Director to develop and communicate a clear vision for the organisation's future commercial growth, identifying trends and emerging opportunities.
- Support the Commercial Director in the development and implementation of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) approach and implement a suitable management system.
- Support the Commercial Director to design and implement a business development and market intelligence approach that will support business growth, ensuring new business opportunities are proactively identified, actioned, and delivered effectively.
- Support the Commercial Director to develop a robust methodology to appraise new commercial opportunities and create a pipeline of new business that will contribute to sustainable business growth across the organisation.
- Support the functional leads of each business division to use the pipeline to develop business plans in line with QEF's new Corporate and other strategies to identify what each service area will deliver and what actions and resources are needed to achieve business growth targets. This includes prioritising initiatives and allocating resources when required.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.
We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).
In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.
QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.

- Liaise and provide ongoing support and relationship management to existing and future customers.
- Development and production of performance related reporting, including monitoring the progress of business growth targets, to ensure performance against and compliance with existing and future contracts, including the GHFT Occupied Healthcare Facility Contract, UCWPS Pathology Transport Services Contract, NuTH Inter Trust Courier Service etc.
- In liaison with the Head of SHEQ, support the Commercial Director in the development, leadership and strategic management of the Quality Assurance function, quantifying and reporting on the standards of service delivery outputs. FOR GENNA??
- Report on monitoring and management of risk and progress against SLA and contract KPIs, and report on results and any risks via required governance channels to senior management and leadership.
- Support and respond to any audit activity or requests such as FOIs related to business growth and development and ensure a timely and coordinated approach
- Liaise and provide support to the Senior Communications Advisor to develop an external communications strategy, including a sales and marketing plan for the organisation.
- Provide line management and leadership of the Business Delivery Manager, Deputy Business Delivery Manager, and Senior Comms Advisor, and manage emotive and challenging situations within the team.
- Undertake and record staff review meetings and 3 monthly performance and development reviews.
- Undertake 12 monthly staff appraisals.
