Estates Department: Electrical Craftsperson
Hours: 37.5 per week

Remuneration: £34,267 plus enhancements, on-call & additional AP payment added to salary (£750 each, Maximum of 2) upon completion of requirements
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Craftsperson to join the estates / maintenance team at QE Facilities Limited.
QE Facilities is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is based at the Darlington Memorial Hospital however you may be required to carry out work at any other site maintained by QE Facilities (Transport provided).
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be required to carry out:
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and breakdown maintenance to all aspects of electrical/mechanical plant & distribution systems.
Testing and fault finding on a wide range of electrical engineering plant and equipment, including but not restricted to: electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, standby generators & nurse call systems.
Carry out minor installation and improvement works, and other maintenance activities at the request of the engineering supervisor.
This post will require the post holder to participate in the site's shift and on-call rota system, where there may be minimal supervision, covering all of the properties maintained by QE Facilities.
All work must be carried out in compliance within QE Facilities safety standards and national legislation. The post holder must be fully aware of their Health & Safety responsibilities relating to their work and possess sufficient technical knowledge to avoid any danger to themselves, colleagues, hospital staff, patients and members of the public.
Must be able to work and act on his/her own initiative with minimum supervision and possess the ability to work and communicate effectively in a pleasant manner with all other members of staff across the QE Facilities remit.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.
We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).
In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.
QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.
