Job summary
Provide an efficient and responsive switchboard operator service, dealing with internal/external routine and emergency calls in a prompt and courteous manner, operate the hospital paging system, monitoring and responding to alarms within the switchboard area. Undertake Estates and Facilities Helpdesk/Reception duties, including but not limited to call logging of estates defects, dealing with an resolving car parking queries, arranging staff bus passes and access control.
Main duties of the job
- Deal with internal and external calls to site in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Monitor and respond to alarms based within the switchboard area.
- Deal with emergency calls, contacting hospital staff on and off site as and when required.
- Operate the hospital paging system (cardiac arrests, major incidents, trauma, fire calls, etc).
- Ensure on-call information is kept up-to date.
- Ensure untoward incidents are recorded and handed over.
- Ensure faults are reported to the appropriate team.
- Estates & Facilities Helpdesk duties.
