30 Hours per week -£25492 a year Pro Rata

A working supervisory role responsible for ensuring that all national/local Food Safety and cleaning legislation are carried out on a day to day basis by staff. Predominately supervises/organises dining rooms/areas. Organises day to day duties/activities of staff/service whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained

Main duties of the job

  • Daily supervision of staff ensuring service needs are met both professionally and safely
  • Compiles weekly rotas ensuring all shifts are covered
  • Ensures staff are carrying out duties in accordance with national/local food safety legislation/best practice with strict

observation to HACCP operational requirements.

  • Ensure staff work in a safe manner observing Health & Safety, COSHH, moving and handling training etc
  • Follows at all times food wastage standards ensuring this is kept to the minimum
  • Ensures food displayed/served in dining areas meet the highest possible quality standards (appearance/service/taste)
  • Daily completion and monitoring of of daily audit records including food safety (HACCP) and cleaning
  • Operates electronic cash register and counts/reconciliates/records/secures takings on a daily basis
  • Ensures vending machines are stocked/emptied/cleaned on a daily basis
  • To be familiar with the security of the department and its contents.
  • Undertakes audits on customer satisfaction as required (wards/dining areas)
  • Report equipment defects and monitors progress for repair
  • Responds to requests for further/out of hours food requirements for patients and dining rooms
  • Service of food, including 'back bar' to customers within dining areas as required
  • Gives guidance and support to staff as the needs of the service dictate

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).

In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.
