We are now offering a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated Team at the Hammersmith Hospital site as the Andrology Laboratory Manager.
In this role, you would encounter a wide range of interesting cases on a day-to-day basis and have an opportunity to practice cutting edge analytical techniques in the provision of this Andrology service to improve the patient experience for men with infertility while overseeing day- to day operational management of the staff.
The successful applicant would demonstrate awareness and compliance with HFEA guidelines and have the responsibility for the team in delivering a diagnostic service which achieves the objectives of efficient and effective patient care, while maintaining UKAS accreditation.The successful candidate would be required to have a recognised management qualification or suitable proven and relevant experience of managing laboratory sections or department while possessing excellent interpersonal skills. A postgraduate degree or equivalent in biomedical science and HCPC registration with a firm scientific knowledge base and practical skill in biomedical sciences are essential requirements.

Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the daily management of a laboratory department and its staff within the Pathology Directorate and deliver an autonomous clinical technical service for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
- Delegated responsibility to inform and implement strategic developments within their team.
- Delegated management of resources and service delivery, which is closely monitored.
- Manage the maintenance of robust systems of clinical governance in place for all teams in their area.
- Manage delegated elements of staffing budgets and hold signatory status on behalf of their line manager.
- They will represent Pathology and the Trust for issues relating to their particular areas of responsibility, which will involve working with outside agencies.

NWLP Induction
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
