Job summary
The Post holder will participate in ensuring that the LIMS and all other pathology related IT systems and services are fit for purpose and reliable in the clinical setting within specifiedsections of the laboratory. The role will support both business as usual functions such asapplication, operational and system support as well as participating in changes and projects asrequired within NWLP.
Main duties of the job
- Support NWLP business as usual functions to ensure smooth operations of thepathology service.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the systems, processes and workflows to be ableto provide expert support and advice to users.
- Contribute to the delivery and implementation of IT projects across NWL Pathology.
- Participate in the relevant meetings.
- Participate in delivery of the NWLP IT project plans.
- Ensure the LIMS and associated IT systems are supported with operational efficiency,reliability and clinical safety as key drivers.
- Liaise with the relevant stakeholders in change requests and service support ensuring

NWLP Induction
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.

- MSc Biomedical Science, Information Systems, Computing, a related subject or equivalent
- Experience working with IT systems in a complex department in the NHS or a similar organisation
- Evidence of continual professional development, especially in areas of Information Technology
Desirable
- Management qualification/IT related degree
- Project Management Qualification such as Prince 2, Agile
- Relevant professional qualification (FIBMS) or equivalent
- Scientific qualification or experience working in pathology or healthcare
