As a thriving pathology network the workload within our communications team has expanded and we now have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and forward thinking digital communications officer to join our small and friendly team.
You will be a key member of the communications team working with colleagues across the organisation on an number of different sites to deliver digital communication strategies and to write and co-ordinate content for our digital channels.
This role is primarily focused on digital communications both internal and external. You will support our current digital channels such as our website and will lead on growing our existing social media presence, as well as researching and introducing more channels and expanding our repertoire to include videos, podcasts and apps. Key to the role will be producing and preparing images, graphics and infographics for use across our digital channels as well as supporting the team with content creation.
You will already be an experienced communications professional looking to develop your skills.
Interviews will be taking place on Wednesday 20 December. These will be in person interviews at St Marys Hospital in Paddington. We are unable to offer online interviews.
Main duties of the job
Provide digital content expertise within NWLP to support with organisational and divisional service goals and strategic priorities. This will include generating high quality, accurate content and developing a programme of scheduled digital communications activity.
Create and coordinate innovative content (including copy, images, videos and podcasts) to optimise and enhance our digital and social media channels using best practice layouts and solutions for user experience, user interface and accessibility.
Research the latest developments and trends in digital technologies, social media and online arenas which will enable us to improve staff experience, raise awareness of our organisation and our vital work to target audiences and key stakeholders.
Develop and implement new digital and social media channels including video hosting platforms, app tools, podcasts, analytics tools, survey solutions, and newsletter software to enhance user experience and engagement.
Create, develop and adapt visual messaging - graphics, complex infographics, images, videos and video clips for various platforms and purposes, using specialist creative applications.
Manage databases associated with any digital channels such as the website test database and GP consumables site.
Produce reports on availability and usage of both internal and external digital platforms.

NWLP Induction
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
