Job summary
NWLP is based on a 'hub and spoke' structure; the majority of routine, specialist and non-urgent activity is centred at our hub site at Charing Cross Hospital operating extended hours covering a six day service. Urgent tests required for immediate patient management and treatment are performed in 24/7 essential service laboratories based on-site in the other hospitals in the group.
We are now offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Senior MOHS Section Leader to join our friendly and dedicated Histopathology team at Charing Cross.
You will become part of a team of Specialist Health care scientists providing both routine and specialised diagnostic services to patients within the Hospital and external users.
Main duties of the job
We are now offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Senior MOHS Section Lead to join our friendly and dedicated Cellular Pathology team. The department processes a wide range of surgical specimens and incoperates Immunohistochemistry, Immunoflourence and MOHS. The Cellular Pathology department supports the MOHS service at Chelsea and Westminister and Hillingdon hospital.
The post holder will lead the MOHS service for the histology laboratory and will be an expert with MOHS specialism, techniques and troubleshooting. They will be responsible for managing a team of experts and provide technical guidance and hands on support to Clinicians and suppliers. Previous experience with MOHS would be highly desirable.
The post holder should also have a good background and extensive experience in histology in core and specialist laboratory duties including embedding, microtomy, frozen sections, special staining and quality control.

NWLP Induction
The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
