Job summary
Applications are invited for a band 8a Clinical Biochemist to join our large team of Clinical Scientists within Blood Sciences at North West London Pathology (NWLP).
NWLP is a partnership between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Trust. The partnership represents a new model for delivering pathology testing in a modern, efficient operation that manages 25 million tests per year. Our services are delivered at six hospital sites across North West London.

Specialist services, including a number of SAS centres, comprise Trace Elements, Endocrinology, Trace Elements, Tumour Markers, Molecular Urology, Metabolic Biochemistry, Special Proteins and the DEQAS vitamin D EQA programme; all have strong Clinical Scientist leadership.
The successful applicant should be state registered and actively working towards FRCPath part 1 (if not already obtained) with post registration experience in all areas of routine biochemistry.
Main duties of the job
Our 8a clinical scientists typically spend one day each week as Duty Biochemist and divide their remaining time between two or more of our specialist services where they will receive full training, develop their expertise and contribute to service development. We would particularly like to encourage applications from candidates with experience or a specialist interest in Trace Elements and/or Specialist Proteins analysis and interpretation.
