We are looking to recruit a Validation Manager to lead on Lorenzo (patient record system) deployment solution testing and validation activities. The successful candidate will lead on the planning, implementation, and future development of projects through the management of initiatives. They will be responsible for supporting work streams across the organisations we support.

Main duties of the job

To manage the Lorenzo Deployment Solution Testing and Validation activities of our Patient Administration System. This includes working to the local specification and design, ensuring management and execution of the Lorenzo deployment.

To work to the agreed scope of deployment testing for the Lorenzo System including a specific plan of scenarios and test scripts to be used, and the dated schedule to perform those scripts in line with the agreed Deployment plan for the project.

To manage the resources directly and carry out tests (and roles and responsibilities for recording the outcomes of the tests), the reporting of progress and the management of issues, defects etc.

To manage the process of deployment testing and ensure that the activities are carried out in accordance with the agreed plan.

Undertake testing of additional IT solutions as and when required.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Follow the local Trust Testing and Validation Strategy.

Work locally with the Lorenzo Manager, System Support team and Dedalus to resolve local issues. Work with Dedalus and the NHS England Teams to communicate updates on the resolution of issues, defects, problems, etc. that are not local issues.

Work with the Trust Systems Support Manager and Dedalus to ensure that the deployment validation process completes.

Agree with Dedalus the environment requirements to support deployment validation and testing for the Project.

Preparation and localisation of validation scripts/planning for each Deployment Unit area of work eg. reporting, interfaces etc. Review and tailor the generic supplier (Dedalus) scripts for local implementation or generate new scripts as appropriate.

Manage the deployment testing and validating schedule and liaise with the supplier (Dedalus) for resolution of defects.

Manage the Trust End User Tester availability schedule (work with the Systems Manager)

Identify, plan and manage any regression testing and validating activities logging all solution defects and business process queries arising during deployment.

Test the local solution to confirm it meets the agreed set of requirements specific validating, reporting, printing, interface, device performance and messaging/spine etc.

Prove and execute validation/testing scripts.

Create retrospective, migrated and real time validation data.

Provide validation progress reports.

Review and categorise the severity of the issues in conjunction with business/operational staff who could also clinically assess the issues.

Communication

Liaise with the Systems Support Manager responsible for progressing business process issues and manage local issues per domain through to resolution.

Liaise with the Technical Team responsible for progressing issues and defects, in terms of the technical infrastructure.

Effective communication within the management cascade structure.

Maintain effective communication with all parties.

Lead and manage high profile, critical and challenging projects across the organisations we support.

Provide specialist knowledge to ensure the delivery and development.

Provide technical expert guidance and support to senior members of staff up to Board level.

Lead on the planning, implementation, and future development of the projects through the management of initiatives and supporting work streams across the organisations we support.

Creation and maintenance of project documentation.

Planning the project and managing implementation.

Risk management.

Maintain continuous communication with relevant stakeholders and participants.
