Join our team as a Materials Management Apprentice and gain practical experience while working towards a Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner Apprenticeship.

You will be employed on a fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours a week, with time for formal study. A high percentage of our Apprentices are recruited into permanent employment within BFS during and on completion of their Apprenticeship.

Youmust notalready hold a same or higher level qualification in the same subject area.

Main duties of the job

As a Materials Management Apprentice you will:

Input and maintain computerised stock profiles and inventory levels for all wards/departments on the procurement system.

Deliver goods on a regular basis using manual handling aids, in loads of excess of 100kg, including, contained hazardous substances, unpack and verify receipt ensuring products are as ordered and to correct specification replenish shelves ensuring stocks are rotated.

Dispose of waste packaging including loading into/unloading from the cardboard compactor in accordance with Trust Waste Disposal Procedures.

Collect NHS Supply Chain cages from Wards/Departments and return to the receipts area.

Ensure that customers receive high service levels whilst maintaining lean stocks.
