Job summary

Do you want to make a difference and work in a fast moving dynamic team? The Procurement team at Barnsley Facilities Services is looking for an enthusiastic hands on person to be our Head of Clinical Procurement. You will manage the clinical category team at Barnsley Hospital and take a pivotal role in delivering significant cost improvements and identifying products and services that add value to our patients and staff.

The Team is involved in a range of local, regional and national initiatives including our high performing Integrated Care System and your skills will support us in meeting our local and national targets.

Main duties of the job

You will take ownership of the effective procurement and contracting of all clinical spend in the Hospital and put in place workplans and strategies to ensure spend is properly contracted and is fit for purpose. Youll liaise with stakeholders and listen and act on any quality concerns. You will have excellent skills in change management, implementing new products as identified and approved nationally, regionally or locally.

You will be a member of the Procurement managment team involved in setting strategy for the department. You will have good leadership skills with the ability to mentor and encourage your team. You will have excellent communication skills able to have conversations around products and processes with all levels of staff. You will be interested in learning what clinical products do and will be keen to engage with clinicians to seek out value for money.
