The Procurement
team at Barnsley Facilities Services is looking for an enthusiastic Supply
Chain Manager to join our team. This is
a new role and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to review and
reshape the Supply Chain services including Logistics and Materials Management
offered to the Trust.
The post holder
will positively champion the supply chain function and lead on the timely
delivery and availability of all clinical and general consumable supplies to
all clinical areas of the Hospital.
You will provide supply
chain support and advice to Trust staff at all levels and will revel in being a
go to person for stock availability queries and stock alternatives.
You will be an
integral member of the Procurement senior team working across Business Units in
order to optimise the supply chain service including the review and
optimisation of stock levels and inventory.
A requirement of
the position/role is to be able to drive a company vehicle and thus an offer of
employment will be conditional upon the successful candidate providing the
necessary evidence that they have a valid driving licence and legally able to
drive in the UK.

Main duties of the job
You will manage the Supply Chain team (of around 15 staff) providing a
daily logistics and top up service to Barnsley Hospital. You will be responsible for ensuring that the
Trusts wards and departments are provided an excellent service ensuring that
the clinical teams have the goods they require to deliver patient care.
You will liaise closely with NHS Supply Chain to keep abreast of stock
issues and take proactive measure to avoid stock out. You will also work closely with the clinical
category team to identify alternative products offering good value for money
and implementing agreed changes across the Trust.
You will optimise
the service provided to the Trust ensuring that the right quality, volume and
frequency of stock is delivered and available.
You will also ensure that the service is flexible and can respond
quickly and efficiently to the needs of the Trust.

- Holder of Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or similar appropriate professional institute or relevant experience
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Evidence of having undertaken Supply Chain Management training or additional specialist courses
- Demonstrable advanced IT skills including specialist software for materials and contract management, mathematical, logical formulas and ability to generate accurate charts/graphs.
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite
