Job summary
BFS Facilities Services (BFS) have vacancies for enthusiastic team players to work as Facilities Operatives, joining our Domestic Cleaning & Housekeeping Services within Barnsley Hospital.
We are looking for individuals who are flexible, eager to learn and develop in fast moving and challenging area of our business, so whilst previous experience is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
We have various working patterns available:
Mon - Fri , 17.00 -20.00. 15 hours contracted
Mon - Fri , 17.00 -20.30. 17.5 hours contracted
Working 4 days Over 7 day period , 3 Wk. Rota, 4pm 8pm. 16 hours contracted
Working 5 days Over 7 day period , 3 Wk. Rota, 4pm 8pm. 20 hours contracted
Mon Fri 08.00 16.15 ,Sat Sun 08.00 15.30. 7 on 7off shift, 30 minute unpaid break 26.387 Contracted
Mon Fri 09.30 16.15 ,Sat Sun 09.30 15.30. 7 on 7off shift, 30 minute unpaid break 21.12 Contracted
Mon Fri 09.00 12 noon, ,Sat Sun 09.00 11.00. 7 on 7off shift, 9.5 Contracted

Main duties of the job
Provision of an efficient and effective high standard of cleaning services, clinical and non- clinical across all of the Trust
To carry out all cleaning assigned, making full use of the guidance and training given, using all materials and consumables in accordance with agreed practices ensuring the economic use of resources.
To provide a service to wards and departments cleaning in close proximity to beds, with due respect for patients dignity.
Manage cleaning schedules in line with patient and ward activity.
Ensure all cleaning schedules are completed and checked on a daily basis.
Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required.
Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
Comply with methods of cleaning required for areas.
Work safely at all times giving due consideration to themselves and others.
Check and observe cleaning to be carried out in accordance with schedule.
Use the appropriate work equipment and PPE provided. Report safety deficiencies and accidents through line manager.
