Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Estates Officer (Electrical) to join a team of engineers responsible for ensuring that all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including contract works are reviewed and completed to the current standards.

The individual will be joining an organisation which is constantly looking to develop new and existing services to provide the best possible healthcare facilities management service. Through a structured development plan, including specialised training, the post holder will ultimately have the responsibility of undertaking the role of Authorised Person as defined within Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 00 for multiple engineering services which will work to ensure that CHoICE meets its statutory, mandatory and best practice commitments to its existing partners.

Expected earnings is not intended to provide a guarantee of earnings.

The base salary range for this role is £37,756 - £45,465pa. However, as the role will require the participation within an on call rota & require the completion of overtime either as a result of call outs or during planned occurrences to meet the needs of the service, additional monetary rewards will be generated.

The expected earnings have been established from actual average earnings earned within the financial year 2021/22 & are based upon similar roles within the organisation. It will be typical to earn more/less than this amount.

Main duties of the job

All applicants must have a positive, friendly and co-operative manner whilst being prepared to be flexible to meet the service needs of a large Acute NHS Trust. Key elements of role will require the post holder to support other estates officers and senior staff to ensure that appropriate maintenance and engineering capital works are completed in a safe and compliant manner. This may form part of attending project meetings, undertaking relevant clerk of works duties and assisting with the development of planned preventative maintenance activities post construction, development of as fitted drawings and development of asset information and standard operating procedures.

The successful applicant will ideally be educated to degree level but candidates will be considered who are working towards this standard or can demonstrate equivalent practical or theoretical experience. Experience of maintaining/installing electrical systems typically found within a large acute NHS trust is desirable however consideration will be given to candidates who have substantial experience in other electrical fields who are looking to develop within a new area of expertise.
