An opportunity
has arisen for an enthusiastic, conscientious and dedicated maintenance
craftsperson (Mechanical) to join a
team of engineering craftsperson responsible for the maintenance and repair of
mechanical plant and equipment at buildings maintained by CHoICE Facilities
Services. The role will require the post holder to undertake the role of
Competent Person (CP) as defined within Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 00
for multiple engineer services and support CHoICE to meet its statutory,
mandatory and best practice commitments to its existing partners.
As part of the role, the post holder will be required to be flexible and
have a wide ranging knowledge of mechanical systems to ensure maintenance,
repair and installation activities can be completed in the most efficient and
effective manner whilst providing the best possible services. As part of a
highly diverse role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to
operate and maintain large scale mechanical system which includes: AHUs, LTHW
systems, steam plant, pressure systems, medical gas system, refrigeration plant
and BMS control.
The role will
also require the participation in the current CFS rolling 365 day shift
pattern/system. The role will also require participation within the current
on-call rota and undertake overtime when the service needs dictate for which
appropriate payments will be made.
Main duties of the job
All applicants
must have a positive, friendly and co-operative manner whilst being prepared to
be flexible to meet the service needs of the Trust. The role will require the
applicant to use their own initiative when undertaking a range of problem
solving scenarios to allow for a satisfactory outcome whilst adapting to the
changing demands of the role. Furthermore, the post holder will be required to
provide technical advice, guidance and where necessary supervision to other CFS
staff, contractors and Trust colleagues alike.
Successful
applicants will need to have a knowledge of electrical systems with a detailed
knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems typically found within an NHS
Trust. Completion of a City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering
or equivalent is essential as well as the completion of a formally recognised,
relevant and accredited apprenticeship.
Expected earnings is not intended to
provide a guarantee of earnings.
The base salary is £33,127 £40,327.
However, as the role will require the participation within an on call rota,
shift rota and require the completion of overtime (call outs / planned /
Emergency) additional monetary rewards will be generated as part of the role.
