per week dayshift Monday to Friday. The role may involve working overtime which

right candidate to fill the position of Deputy Director of Estates and
Facilities to join City Hospitals Independent Commercial Enterprises Ltd.
(CHoICE)
CHoICE, an independent wholly owned subsidiary
company, provides all hard and soft facility services to South Tyneside and
Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The principal sites are Sunderland Royal
Hospital, Sunderland Eye Infirmary, Sunderland Childrens Centre and Durham
Treatment Centre with around 900 acute beds.
Main duties of the job
This role is to manage and
lead the Estates and Facilities functions on the South Tyneside District
Hospital site and a number of community sites but deputise for the Director of
Estates and Facilities across the CFS operational business
The role will ensure the
estate is in good order and to provide a safe and comfortable environment for
patients and staff; and ensuring compliance with all statutory standards. This includes the infrastructure, plant
machinery and equipment which provides the lighting, heating air conditioning,
water, steam, sewage services, medical gases system etc. without which the
hospital could not function; together with the maintenance and upkeep of the
nominated buildings, including structure, roofs, roadways and internal/external
finishes.
The role includes the
managerial, professional and technical responsibility to deliver high quality
and efficient Estates Management and Facilities Management support services to
patients, staff and the public, in accordance with National Priorities,
guidance and the strategic objectives of our stakeholder.
A full UK driving licence is
required/ preferred for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made

and Facilities implications are considered as part of any longer term strategy for our stakeholders.
