Job summary

CHoICE Facilities Services are seeking a hardworking and reliable individual to join our team.As a Catering Assistant you would be responsible for assisting production staff in the effective production & service of high quality of meals & beverages by carrying out associated cleaning and hygiene related duties. The role is kitchen based and involves cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, food production areas. The role is predominantly cleaning and is physically demanding.

This role is 20 hours per week with a shift pattern of 2pm-6pm, Monday Sunday on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job

20 hours per week (2pm-6pm, on a rota basis over 7 days)

The catering department requires a catering assistant to maintain cleanliness and sanitation within kitchen, production, dining rooms, central wash and staff changing areas including toilets. The role will be on a rota basis between the hours of 2pm and 6pm and may include weekend working. This is a physical role requiring the use of machinery including floor scrubbers.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in designated work areas within documented cleaning schedules, as well as ad hoc duties as requested by your duty supervisor
  • Support in stock control and stock rotation in line with HACCP guidelines for both patient and retail areas.
  • Recording of food, fridge/freezer temperatures
  • Monitoring fridges/chilled units and ensuring food are within use by date
  • Reporting faults, accidents and adverse incidents
  • Replenishing and merchandising all food display units and maintaining appropriate records
  • Demonstrating excellent customer care skills, courtesy and politeness
  • Adhering to all Choice policies and procedures.
