Job summary
An excitement opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic,
conscientious and dedicated Assistant Estates Officer (Mechanical) to join a team
of specialist engineers responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, plumbing
and Decontamination maintenance and installation activities, including contract
works is reviewed and completed to an appropriate standard throughout.
The
role will witness an individual joining an ambitions organisation which is
constantly looking to develop new and existing services to provide the best
possible healthcare facilities management service within the region.
Furthermore, the successful applicant will join a team that has a proven track
record of coaching staff and assisting team members in the development of their
career through on the site training and attendance of specialist and further
education training courses. Through a structured development plan, the post holder
will ultimately be working towards achieving the responsibility of undertaking
the role of Authorised Person (AP) as defined within Health Technical
Memorandum (HTM) 00 for multiple engineer services which will work to ensure
that CHoICE meets its statutory, mandatory and best practice commitments to
its existing partners.
The role will also require the participation in
the current CFS shift pattern/system, current on-call rota and undertake
overtime when the service needs dictate for which appropriate payments will be
made.
Main duties of the job
Applicants
must have a positive, friendly and co-operative manner whilst being prepared to
be flexible to meet the service needs of a large Acute NHS Trust. Key elements
of role will require you to support senior engineering staff to
ensure that appropriate maintenance and engineering capital works are completed
in a safe and compliant manner. This may form part of attending project
meetings, undertaking relevant clerk of works duties and assisting with the
development of planned preventative maintenance activities post construction,
development of as fitted drawings and development of asset information and
standard operating procedures.
The successful
applicant will ideally be educated to degree level but candidates will be
considered who are working towards this standard or can demonstrate equivalent
practical or theoretical experience. Experience of maintaining/installing
mechanical systems typically found within a large acute NHS trust is desirable
however consideration will be given to candidates who have substantial
experience in other mechanical fields who are looking to develop within a new
area of expertise.

earnings is not intended to provide a guarantee of earnings.
The base
salary range for this role is £37,756 - £45,465. As the role will require the participation
within an on call rota and possible overtime as a result of call outs or
planned occurrences to meet the needs of the service, additional monetary
rewards will be generated.
