THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/ SECONDMENT FOR UPTO 12 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
This post is being offered as a secondment opportunity only. If you wish to apply, you must have your line manager's approval before making an application. This post is for a fixed secondment period but may be extended or made permanent at the end of the secondment period depending on available funding and business requirement.
An exciting secondment opportunity for a suitably experienced registered Pharmacy professional has become available at Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW)
The newly created post, fully supported by Welsh Government, will lead the strategic development, in partnership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), of an implementation plan and management system initially focussed on the infrastructure for the HEIW Post Registration Foundation model of support from September 2026.
The proposed infrastructure will also underpin and facilitate, for all Pharmacist registrants, the support required across all aspects of their career pathways for achievement of RPS credential awards.If you are looking for an exciting new challenge to work within an organisation who is committed to innovation, improvement and high-quality education and training, then this job could be for you.
This secondment opportunity will begin in September 2025 until August 2026.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be expected to work with all stakeholders and partners across Wales and the wider UK to ensure the implementation plan developed meets service needs and agreed strategic objectives and provides an infrastructure of support.
Engaging with senior stakeholders, developing and maintaining relationships with a range of key stakeholders (internal and external) across all sectors of practice , identifying areas of interdependency and forging links as appropriate
Working in partnership for multi-organisation ownership, responsibility and accountability for engagement and delivery of this HEIW post registration revised model of support for new IP registrants from September 2026 as the initial focus
Engage with stakeholders to influence and agree the implementation plan with the aim of securing engagement with the pathway of career development for new IP registrants in Wales as agreed in WG commissioned NHS Wales Acute Clinical Services review and Pharmacy: Delivering a Healthier Wales (PDaHW) which underpins WG long term plan for health and social care.
Identify how the infrastructure for the post registration foundation model of support can be embedded/replicated for advanced and consultant practice credential pathways taking learnings from any current methods of approach and be able to influence change where necessary
