Job summary

As a member of the Estates and Facilities Team, the Facilities & Compliance Officer will support the Facilities & Compliance Manager in delivering the NWSSP IP5, facilities management and compliance agenda, overseeing planned preventative maintenance and statutory obligations to keep the site safe and compliant.

The role includes managing the building's operational environment along with day-to-day health and safety matters, contractor control and responding to urgent ad-hoc work requests.

The post holder will manage their own portfolio of minor projects, balancing competing demands and coordinating suppliers to meet organisational needs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the NWSSP Estates and Facilities Management team, supporting the IP5 Facilities & Compliance Manager to ensure buildings, infrastructure and systems meet statutory and mandatory standards. They will coordinate contractors, manage a portfolio of works and projects, provide technical advice, and maintain accurate records of planned and reactive maintenance.

They will work with consultants, NHS colleagues, suppliers and internal teams to progress priorities and ensure compliance with NWSSP policies. The role includes supporting or leading projects linked to the Facilities & Compliance programme, the NWSSP IMTP, decarbonisation and business continuity. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, maintaining project documentation, developing risk assessments, managing risk registers, overseeing site safety roles and ensuring strong contractor control processes.

The post holder will respond to building-related incidents, complaints and health & safety matters, as well as manage procurement activities including supplier evaluation, tender coordination and contract management. They will monitor supplier performance, address issues and promote compliance. Working independently, they will prioritise tasks, escalate issues appropriately and support other NWSSP sites when required.
