Job summary
The Senior Production Operator post activities cover's pre and in-process accuracy checks, manufacture and visually checks aseptically prepared medicines, providing clinical technical services within the Medicines Unit and Radiopharmacy, under a Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Manufacturer's "Specials"
Licence to ensure delivery of a timely, high quality and patient-focused service across Wales
o They will undertake clean room activities in the Medicines unit and Radiopharmacy, using aseptic techniques including the use of semi-automated equipment to batch manufacture medicines, in accordance with clean room behaviour principles.
o They will participate in the Pharmacy Quality Management System, undertaking pre and in-process accuracy checking and visual
inspection activities to ensure the medicinal products are safe and effective for patient use.
o They will take responsibility for maintaining effective stock control, security and minimising waste of starting materials and consumables
required for individual batch production in their remit.
o This will involve wearing specialist clean room clothing within the Medicines Unit and Radiopharmacy.
Main duties of the job
The role holder's role include clean room activities, within both the TMU and RadioPharmacy, including clean room behaviour, aseptic techniques and the use of semi-automated equipment. They will be required to participate in the assembly and manufacture of prepared medicinal products, ensuring that the TMU, RadioPharmacy and the operations are completed in accordance with good manufacturingpractice (GMP), good clinical practice (GCP) and good distribution practice (GDP) requirements, Health and Safety at Work, Control ofSubstances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and Ionising Radiations regulations (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R), The HumanMedicines Regulations, and any other relevant statutory requirements.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
