Job summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced communications professional to lead the Communications Team. The Head of Communication and Engagement, who will be accountable to the Assistant Director of Corporate Services, will be instrumental in developing and delivering a strategic approach to communications and engagement which supports NWSSP's commitment to excellence and the delivery of its vision and objectives. This is a unique role within NWSSP operating at the most senior level in the organisation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Provide the strategic leadership, specialist expertise and strategic vision to ensure that NWSSP has a high quality, comprehensive communications strategy through a Health Board Communications Team.
Lead the development and implementation of proactive and innovative internal and external communication strategies and monitor their delivery in a highly complex organisation and deliver new and innovative approaches. Ensure all communication channels (including routine publications, social media, internet and intranet) are appropriately utilised and exploited in order to maximise their contribution to meeting organisational objectives.
Lead the development of the standards for NWSSP's branding,corporate identity and its usage. Monitor and manage the brand, including producing high quality corporate image materials for events, conferences and publications. Provide management of proactive and innovative communications within the organisation and advise and influence staff on the appropriate approach to corporate communications.
Develop and implement fast, efficient and effective internal communication process, promoting a culture of openness and proactive communication within the services.
Be responsible for compiling monthly staff briefings, liaising with senior staff as appropriate. Lead on the preparation, design, editing and production of the organisation's internal newsletters.
