Job summary
The post holder's primary role will be to provide effective leadership and take overall responsibility for the Service Desk Team and their deliverables including Incident Management, Problem Management and Request Fullfilment for all Systems and Services supported by the Central Team for the Consortium. The team is also the BACS Bureau Service for NHS Wales. Ensuring regularity compliance will be an essential aspect of the role as well as ensuring all Service Desk processes are aligned to ISO20001 best practice processes to support accreditation.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to maternity cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to join Central Team eBusiness Services to provide maternity cover for the current post holder for 12 months, which is a small specialist division, supporting all health boards/trusts and hosted organisations in Wales on a range of national projects. As part of a busy division you will be responsible for:Service Desk Team Management - Providing effective leadership and take overall responsibility for the Team and their deliverables including Incident Management, Problem Management and Request Fulfillment for all Systems and Services supported.Operational responsibility for Managed Service Providers Support provisions.Project management - The project aspects of the role will require the post holder to take overall responsibility for taking forward a range of developments and projects. You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience and have a background working in a structured and disciplined department, . Excellent presentation and communication skills are needed to present data and information in a clear, understandable manner Please ensure you set out how you meet the essential criteria in the application form.
