An exciting opportunity with NWSSP, Procurement Services, SCLT Team function, for a Supply Chain Area Manager in assisting the Deputy Head of Supply Chain, Transport and Logistics in Maintaining Quality Assurance and delivering Service Improvements through Material Management.As the SC Area Manager for the Materials Management, throughout South/East/West Wales, the post holder's role is to enable efficient, effective use of resources, allowing the delivery of efficient and effective services, in areas such as Quality, Stock Management, Stock Resilience, at Internal and External establishments, Consolidating Practices, maximising opportunities wherever possible, ensuring targets and deliverables are successfully achieved. Supporting NWSSP Procurement Services Senior Leadership Team on the local and wider business plans ensuring they reflect the organisation's annual delivery plan and strategies set out within its Integrated Medium-Term Plan. The SC Area Manager will network and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, partners & contractors, the ability to communicate with all key stakeholders, establish, maintain effective working relationships is a fundamental aspect of this role. Represent Procurement Services on any relevant All Wales Groups. To lead on projects that have been disseminated from the All-Wales Work Groups.
Main duties of the job
To manage the Provision of Picketston and External Warehouses to agreed standards. To effectively monitor service delivery for your area, ensuring Legal Compliance, identifying opportunities for service improvement and new developments. The role is an integral part of the wider NHS and reliant on good engagement and relationships with others
Responsible for Resilience, Mass Vaccination and Date Life Management Teams Responsible for Policy and service development implementation To be responsible for the general security of Picketston Stores, holding sensitive stock Ensuring SCLT work within the Health and Safety at Work Act

Liaise closely with agencies, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations, legislation an protocols, which govern the work of SCLT services, including Stores (Internal & External), Operation & Control, secure storage, security of all items
Responsible for the efficient and smooth running of SCLT Warehouse and Department areas Constantly monitor and adapt working practices to achieve best results for department, where required changes liaise with Internal / External Stakeholders through consultation and negotiation, communicating change where required. Attend meetings with current and potential partners regarding the operation and development for SCLT Contribute to the general management, development and operation of the SCLT. Create and present business cases, presentations and training and familiarisation packages Create and present reports to SMT Undertake an assigned role in the event of a Major Incident Achieve and sustain contracts within a competitive environmentReporting potential Problems to Management. To monitor staff performance utilising various methods, to ensure Schedules are being met. Conduct Staff Appraisals, Sickness and Annual Leave management, one to one staff meetings. To carry out electronic system input/interrogation on the Oracle computer system. To manage the processing of Emergency Requests by Customers, effectively communicating the request to staff making judgements based on assessment of priorities and workload, and reschedule work appropriately. To manage daily workload ensuring the most effective and efficient methods are deployed and communicated to staff. To implement and propose standard operating procedures and best practice at all times. To monitor and manage all reported stock discrepancies, regularly updating Management on any action taken and ongoing complexities. To ensure the appropriate use of mechanical handling equipment as and when required. To ensure all Vehicles and Manual Handling Equipment are in good working order and following the appropriate procedure for any that are identified as defective, ensuring all documentation is correct and accurately completed. Any other duties which maybe required ensuring the Business maintain Customer satisfaction levels in accordance with the Business ISO/Quality framework

You should demonstrate a good understanding of NHS inventory and warehouse management systems, Business Quality Documents Management Systems.
