Job summary

The role of Assistant Directorate Manager supports the performance of the Directorate by managing a team that will provide services in the following operational areas:

  • Performance metrics, governance, and reporting

  • Recruitment and Retention, including workforce analysis and resource planning

  • Financial management, including monitoring and reporting

  • Comms and engagement

  • Continuous service improvement & development

  • Contracts and procurement

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the line management of the Directorate Management Service team - building and maintaining the team, be accountable for the team's performance ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well.

You will identify obstacles, for example people, processes and technology, and utilise your autonomy to help the team to overcome them and encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery team.

You will actively coach and mentor both team members and others to apply the most appropriate tools and techniques to deliver a high quality, responsive and efficient service.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is an expert national body and part of NHS Wales. We work in partnership with NHS Wales colleagues and other key stakeholders to provide national digital and data services which support the delivery of health and social care in Wales.   • Change management experience/Service Improvement knowledge/skills

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Management Qualification
  • Experience of using agile techniques to manage and prioritise work
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Working knowledge of wider health and social care systems and structures, policies, procedures and legislation relevant to service area
