Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our organisational performance team to lead the development and delivery of a high-quality performance service for Digital Health and Care Wales. Provide expert analysis and presentation of complex data to support improvement across the Health Board. Manage and guide the Performance Team, oversee performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with national requirements. Shape service policy, deputise for the Head of Organisational Performance, and play a key role in preparing for meetings with Welsh Government. Drive the ongoing development of the performance management framework, manage the team's budget, and deliver key organisational projects.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is an expert national body and part of NHS Wales. We work in partnership with NHS Wales colleagues and other key stakeholders to provide national digital and data services which support the delivery of health and social care in Wales. Modern health and care services depend on good digital tools, data and information. DHCW runs or works with more than 100 services and delivers major national digital transformation programmes to support this. In addition, DHCW provides expert advice in relation to cyber security and information governance. We give frontline staff the digital tools which help them provide safer and more efficient care. We are also giving patients and the public digital tools to better manage their own health and wellbeing, empowering people to live healthier lives. Essential
- Educated to Master's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Evidence of continuous management, personal and professional development
- Knowledge and experience about benchmarking with best-in-class organisations
- Understanding of NHS structure, services and change agenda.
- In-depth knowledge across a range of areas including financial and staff management, information systems and performance management principles acquired through training and experience over an extended period
- Understanding of the NHS Wales performance management and planning processes
- Sound up to date knowledge and understanding of performance management and measurement tools
Desirable
- Postgraduate management qualification
- In depth specialist knowledge of healthcare informatics policy
- Expert knowledge of healthcare performance, governance agenda and data protection legislation, guidelines and best practice
Experience
Essential
- High level experience of successfully managing performance reporting and analysis function within the NHS
- Extensive experience as a Senior Performance manager in an NHS organisation
- Evidence of leading change and influencing senior staff

- Experience of implementing or working to a rigorous performance framework
