Main duties of the job

About the Role:

As the Assistant Director of Planning, you willbe responsible for leading the strategic planning and portfolio management functions within DHCW. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that align with our organisational goals. Your role will involve overseeing the portfolio management process, ensuring that our projects and initiatives are effectively managed and delivered on time. You will be the professional lead for our Planning and Portfolio Management framework covering strategic, operational and emergency planning functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives.

  • Oversee the portfolio management process, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

  • Establish and maintain PMO standards to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Provide expert advice on strategic planning, portfolio, programme, and project management.
