Job summary

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR UP TO 36 MONTHS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

As a Lead Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the effective delivery of complex,high risk products, projects and services.

You will have a high standard of previous experience managing a range of products, projects and services and have responsibility and accountability as the main point of escalation.

The Lead Delivery Manager will have strong communication skills and be able to engage with a variety of stakeholders.

You will be required to coach and mentor senior delivery managers and other team members.

You will be at the forefront of Agile and Lean practices, ensuring high standards of delivery while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring expertise in coaching teams, optimising workflows, and tackling organisational challenges. As the main point of escalation, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to align delivery with business objectives.

Main duties of the job

Lead the delivery of complex project, digital products and services, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.

Coach and mentor teams in Agile methodologies, embedding best practices in your team and contributing to the regular release of product iterations.

Optimise delivery flows, unblock challenges, and enhance team effectiveness through agile planning and execution.

Engage with stakeholders at all levels, managing expectations, influencing decision-making, and aligning priorities with business needs.

Be a proactive member of the Agile community of practice, sharing expertise and shaping delivery strategies for the organisation.

Drive user-centred service delivery, ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Oversee budget management, supplier contracts, and commercial negotiations to ensure value for money.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is an expert national body and part of NHS Wales. We work in partnership with NHS Wales colleagues and other key stakeholders to provide national digital and data services which support the delivery of health and social care in Wales. Modern health and care services depend on good digital tools, data and information. DHCW runs or works with more than 100 services and delivers major national digital transformation programmes to support this. In addition, DHCW provides expert advice in relation to cyber security and information governance. We give frontline staff the digital tools which help them provide safer and more efficient care.
