We're seeking an exceptional Head of Agile Delivery to spearhead innovative, digitally-enabled programmes, products, and services across the Community and Mental Health sector. This is a pivotal leadership role in our Primary, Community, and Mental Health Directorate, combining strategic oversight, team coaching, and stakeholder influence to deliver meaningful change in a complex and evolving environment.

The Role

As the Head of Agile Delivery, you will:

  • Lead with purpose by driving the delivery of transformative healthcare initiatives, ensuring timely, on-budget results.
  • Inspire and coach teams in Agile and Lean practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Influence stakeholders across digital and non-digital domains, navigating challenges and building consensus.
  • Innovate solutions to unblock barriers and optimise delivery, placing user-centred design at the heart of every decision.
  • Champion change, leading organisational transformation to sustainable, impactful designs.

Main duties of the job

Oversee Agile delivery across the division, guiding teams through the full product lifecycle.

Build and implement strategies that seamlessly align business needs with innovative analysis.

Set priorities, manage risks, and tackle complex dependencies with resilience and strategic clarity.

Act as an advocate for Agile practices, mentoring teams, and introducing innovative delivery techniques.

Represent the division at board-level, confidently navigating high-risk, high-complexity discussions.

Manage significant budgets, supplier contracts, and ensure delivery of value for money.
