Job summary

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is an organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.

Working in a challenging environment, you will face a variety of competing priorities that will require a flexible and imaginative approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.The post holder will need knowledge and expertise leading a programme, in a complex organisation.

We have two fantastic senior opportunities for you to join DHCW and help us transform health and care through digital innovation. Both positions are Programme Leads:

Programme Lead: Planned Care

Programme Lead: Urgent and Emergency Care

The successful candidates will be DHCW's strategic leads for national initiatives in Planned care or Urgent and Emergency Care respectively.

We are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals that care about and are committed to delivering digital solutions for NHS staff and patients in Wales. Together we will improve access to clinical information, enabling safer and more effective care; supported by modern information and digital technologies.

Main duties of the job

To be the DHCW lead on national strategic programmes delivering digital solutions and services to NHS Wales.

To lead, provide structure, and manage the co-ordinated organisation, direction, and implementation of a dossier of complex transformational projects and activities of significant size, complexity, and risk to achieve outcomes and realise benefits of strategic importance to NHS Wales.

This will include as the major focus of the role, the development of the strategic programme plans for complex national digital programmes, as NHS Wales transitions to digitise clinical processes on an All-Wales basis.

The postholders will manage teams of programme and project staff engaged delivering digital change to NHS Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
