Job summary

We are looking for a Lead Technical Architect to help us design, build and manage the National Data Resource architecture on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The Lead Technical Architect will:

  • Possess a deep technical understanding of the Google Cloud Platform product set, including the Google Healthcare API, and demonstrate a track record of delivery using platform as a service (PaaS) components.
  • Design and implement robust, secure, and highly available enterprise-scale healthcare solutions.
  • Manage and provision the cloud solution architecture via CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust and repeatable deployments to development, test, and production environments according to DevOps best practice.
  • Design and lead teams to build and manage data pipelines that integrate data from various sources, in batch or streaming scenarios, converting data to the required format as necessary.
  • Have knowledge of open healthcare standards such as HL7 v2, FHIR, DICOM, and experience of implementing these standards within healthcare solutions.
  • Communicate and relay technical detail effectively to a range of communities and stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.
  • Lead and collaborate with others, support colleagues where necessary, and present and share knowledge and learning as well as learning constructively form others.

  • Management of multi-skilled applications design/development team
  • In depth and wide-ranging experience working in applications design and development within a microservices architecture across a variety of on-premise and cloud-based environments
  • Knowledge and experience of designing and implementing well defined and scalable APIs to support a microservices architecture.
  • Expert knowledge and experience of designing and developing national applications and implementing design and development methodologies in large, complex IT Programmes
