Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic data analyst to join our team as Specialist Data Analyst. This post will play a key role in maximizing the potential of the data we collect to improve patient care and services across Wales.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will cover a range of areas, including providing analytical, modelling and data processing support, and responding to information requests to provide data, run reports and develop dashboards, through the application of analytical and data handling skills. There will also be opportunities to support our data warehousing and acquisition team. Experience and a working knowledge of tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, ArcGIS, Python and R would be an advantage, though not essential. We are looking to further develop our mapping work, so experience in this area would be welcome.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team and can demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high-quality service. The successful applicant will need to be able to work under pressure, be responsive to fast moving deadlines and maintain positive, constructive relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations and be able to prioritise their own work.

Depending on experience we may offer the post as a Band 5 Data Analyst. If appointed as a Data Analyst, progression to the next pay band is dependent on meeting an agreed set of competency criteria managed through Personal Development Review (PDR). Once those criteria are met you will automatically progress to Band 6.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
