Digital health architecture is evolving. Emerging standards for interoperability and data persistence are moving the emphasis away from siloed applications and traditional database design into facilitating ubiquitous data flow across the enterprise. The value of digital care is determined upon how safe and accessible it is for clinicians and patients to use. This requires appropriately governed access to data which is of particular importance in the domain of genomics.
DHCW seeks a forward thinking and enthusiastic architect that see the wide-angle view, the possibilities of emerging digital technologies and a desire to make a difference for clinicians and patients alike in the evolving fields of genomics and precision medicine. The role of Lead Technical Design Architect is an exciting opportunity to join the national digital team to establish the design of next generation services and platforms in support of Genomics Partnership Wales.
You will be the technical authority on a national digital innovation programme to support care for 3.1 million citizens of Wales as part of an ambitious national delivery programme. The Lead Technical Design Architect is a pivotal asset to multi-disciplinary team members, as well as those in other departments and Health Boards.
Main duties of the job
In varied environments,you will work with external technology suppliers as well as innovative technology teams across NHS Wales. You will support a range of projects from greenfield innovation through to mature use cases that require new approaches to traditional architecture problems.
You will Design and contribute to the development, refinement and evolution of the National Architecture that supports the technical goals of Genomics Partnership Wales with experience of a range of technical tooling, programming languages, enterprise messaging solutions and clinical data repositories. You have experience of industry standard architectural paradigms and technical business process analysis.
You are responsible for formulating strategic and technical plans for GPW, leveraging a broad spectrum of architectural domains including business, enterprise, technical and application. You will produce documentation describing and communicating the principles of the architecture approach, including review, and assessing architecture and service designs from partner organisations. You will work with procurement teams to define requirements and evaluate suppliers for products and services necessary for delivery of the GPW.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
