Job summary

We are looking to recruitaproduct specialist into a varied and challenging post. We require highly motivated individuals who cancontribute to project deliverables and operational service stability.

Ideally, candidateswill be educated todegree level or have equivalent experience within an IT infrastructure environment.

Main duties of the job

Experience

Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 to 9

Database Administration: PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Cache

Programming: Python, Shell, Ansible

Automation & Management: Ansible, AWX/Tower, Cron, Puppet

Networking: Fundamentals of TCP/IP, networking interfaces and routing.

Storage: 3PAR SAN Storage Management

Virtualisation: VMWare & Hyper V

Security: key security principles (Confidentiality, Integrity & Availability)

We're looking for someone who will beresponsible for the support and management ofall aspects of provision of the specialist services for which the post holder isresponsible.

Work withthe Infrastructure Operations Technology Leadtodeliver effective implementations and service stability.

Manage and maintain the nationalservices used to provide critical systems to NHS Wales.

This is not a complete list of duties that will be required but covers the main aspects of the role.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • Achieved (or working towards) degree level or equivalent qualification in IT or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in this area
  • Professional IT qualification such as RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or CompTIA Linux+ plus relevant experience
  • Commitment to continuing professional development for self
  • ISEB Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Good general knowledge of common hardware and software applications
  • Understanding of inter relationships between aspects of IT infrastructure and service support requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of the Linux Server distributions and Ansible automation.
  • Thorough knowledge of IT Communications Infrastructure; including knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN topologies, PoP3/SMTP/Squid and how it applies to IT infrastructure and service support

Desirable

  • PRINCE2 foundation or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • ISEB Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL)
  • Service Support & Service Delivery or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of NHS Wales organisations & ITIL strategy
