Job summary
Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is the national strategic IM&T organisation responsible for the design, development, delivery and service management of ICT systems for the NHS in Wales. We play a key role in the delivery of safe, effective healthcare for patients across the whole of Wales. This means ensuring that whilst IT systems store information securely they also allow the relevant information to be available to the right staff, in the right place, at the right time across NHS Wales to support patient care.
DHCW have embarked on a number of new development projects and these, together with our existing development portfolio, mean we are looking for software developers to help build key clinical information systems across NHS Wales.
What you'll be doing
We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Corporate Applications software development team. You'll have the opportunity to work within a team of developers to help develop and maintain our growing portfolio of .NET Core/.NET applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience:
- Building websites using the latest Microsoft technologies (ASP .NET Core)
- Working with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
- Working with front end browser technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScipt)
- Writing and maintaining unit tests (XUnit)
- Mentoring less experienced developers
- Reviewing their peer's code through code reviews
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have experience working with the following technologies, languages and language features:
- C#, T-SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- .NET Core (3.1) and .NET (5+)
- JavaScript (DOM manipulation, Fetch API)
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
