We are looking for two Senior Data Analysts who are passionate about making a difference with data to join the NHSBT Data Intelligence Programme. This sits at the heart of NHSBTs modernisation and transformation agenda, as meaningful data and analysis are key to unlocking insights to drive improvements in donor and patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality services. The programme is a central enabler of the organisations ambitions to ensure blood stock resilience, improve clinical quality, and deliver more efficient, safe, inclusive, and resilient operations while providing a faster, timelier, and reliable source of intelligence for our managers.

Main duties of the job

• Supporting the Head of Performance & Business Intelligence in providing highly complex data analysis and analytics to support the Blood Supply directorate and NHSBT more widely.
• Developing, enhancing, maintaining, and publishing a range of supply chain data, analysis, and analytics, while ensuring compliance with data protection and information governance legislation and organisational policies.
• Managing the workload and delivery of Band 6 analysts, monitoring performance in line with NHSBT and departmental policies and processes.
• Producing detailed analysis, data and reports as part of scheduled work and in response to ad hoc requests, including under the Freedom of Information Act.
• Extracting, integrating, and interrogating data from a variety of source systems using industry standard tools, such as MS-SQL, R, PowerBI and MS Excel.
• Supporting Blood Supply change projects, operations, and programmes by designing, building and publishing specific data sets, dashboards and visualisations.
• Acting as a subject matter expert for Blood Supply data analysis and interpretation of the data, providing professional support, advice, recommendations, and solutions to complex problems.

You may be required to travel and spend time away from base on occasion, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
