Job summary

As a Plasma Operations Manager, you will lead multi disciplinary teams to ensure a safe, high quality, and efficient plasma collection service that supports patients across the UK. Your leadership will directly shape donor experience, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and service improvement. You will champion safe practice, embed continuous improvement, and drive operational excellence by working collaboratively with clinical, operational and regulatory colleagues. Acting as the MHRA Responsible Person for named plasma centres, you will maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and governance. This is a role where your decisions matter you will help deliver enough plasma to meet national demand while ensuring every donor is welcomed, valued and safe.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide guidance and support to the Plasma for Medicine (PFM) wider operations team, with a focus on performance and capability by interacting and collaborating with other stakeholders making sure that there are plans in place that support compliance and accurate record keeping at all times, to drive operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:-

  • Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams and natural working parties whose purpose is to efficiently and safely collect PFM in line with service delivery targets.
  • Undertaking the role and responsibilities of the Plasma designated MHRA Responsible Person (RP) as described in the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations 2005.
  • Delivering a positive donor experience whilst maintaining donor and product safety and regulatory compliance.
You will be required to participate in a rotational on-call rota providing support outside of core operating hours, but not including night shifts. With prior agreement, you may be required to work irregular hours, including overnight stays and travel away from your base.
